COMAG is delighted to announce the acquisition of 100% of the share capital of Gold Key Media Limited
COMAG is delighted to announce the acquisition of 100% of the share capital of Gold Key Media Limited. Gold Key Media Limited was established in 2001 by Chris Horn and James Pearce and has now become the market leader in the specialist placement and sale of media products to a highly targeted and diverse range of venues. The company works with iconic hotel brands in the UK and increasingly around the world, including The Dorchester, Claridges, Mandarin, Jumeirah and Hilton and with leading businesses ranging from David Lloyd, BUPA and Lufthansa to Howard De Walden and Virgin Trains. Gold Key Media has successfully created an alternative route to market for a wide range of renowned UK and international publishers, such as The Economist, News International, Condé Nast Publications, The National Magazine Company, IPC, National Geographic and Northern & Shell. The acquisition will not result in any changes to Gold Key Media’s business activities or operations. It will continue to run as a stand alone business, benefiting from the added expertise and support of COMAG, the leading third party newsstand distributor in the UK. Chris Horn will continue in his role as Managing Director supported by the existing management team. James Pearce, CEO, will be leaving with immediate effect to pursue other interests including Gold Key Media (Germany) GmbH and Alliance Media Services Limited. Commenting on the purchase, Mike Mirams, COMAG’s Managing Director said: “I'm delighted that Gold Key Media is now part of the COMAG Group. It's a great business and fits perfectly with our aim to provide publishers with effective routes-to-market. I am certain that we can help the excellent team at Gold Key Media to build on the success it has already achieved.” Chris Horn, Managing Director of Gold Key Media added: “I’ve known and worked alongside Mike and many members of his COMAG management team for many years. Being able to combine COMAG’s considerable industry expertise, market position and synergies with the unique strengths of the Gold Key Media team is a fantastic opportunity and one that our publishing and venue clients will benefit from significantly in the coming months”. CurtCo Media to expand Robb Report global reach with Launches in India, Spain and Singapore.
CurtCo Media to expand Robb Report global reach with launches in India, Spain and Singapore. Newly Formed Partnerships Extend Luxury Lifestyle Monthly’s Brand Into World’s Most Affluent Homes and Fastest-Growing Economies. NEW YORK (August, 2008) – CurtCo Media, publisher of international luxury lifestyle authority Robb Report and a family of magazines targeting the world’s most affluent readers, today announced plans to extend the brand’s global reach with the launches of editions based in India, Spain and Singapore. The agreements mark the latest in a series of international expansions that includes previous launches in Russia, China and Turkey. These deals advance the company’s strategy to continue to develop an exclusive readership consisting of the wealthiest consumers in the world’s fastest growing economies, positioning the 32 year-old brand at the forefront of the well-documented rise in global wealth. This international trend was detailed earlier this year by the Merrill Lynch/Capgemini 2008 World Wealth Report, which found that 10.1 million individuals worldwide held at least US$1 million in financial assets last year, a 6 percent increase over 2006. Contributing to this increase were nations already addressed by the Robb Report international portfolio, including China, whose $1-million-plus demographic increased 20 percent during the 12-month period to 415,000 individuals, and Russia, whose figure jumped over 14 percent to 136,000 individuals. The newest editions of the Robb Report will reach the fastest-growing nation in the study, India, whose high net-worth segment rose 22 percent to 136,000 individuals; Indonesia, whose number increased 16 percent to 23,000; and Singapore, which boasts 77,000 individuals with $1 million or more, a 15 percent upsurge. Scheduled to debut in the fall, Robb Report India unites CurtCo Media with India Today Group. Robb Report India will target the country’s most affluent readers, with a focus on luxury goods and services offered both internationally and in India. The publication will include existing Robb Report content, as well as information specifically for the Indian market. “It is with great pleasure we announce this long-term partnership, at the perfect time in India’s rapidly growing luxury market,” said India Today Group Chairman Aroon Purie. “We look forward to adding this publication to our stable of market-leading brands, and to furthering our relationships with the wealthiest homes in India.” Established in partnership with SpainMedia Magazines, Robb Report Spain will be the first edition of the magazine ever to be published in Spanish. Robb Report Spain will address the country’s most affluent readers with highly targeted distribution in high net-worth regions, including Madrid, Barcelona, Marbella and Valencia. The publication, which will be unveiled in the fall, will include existing Robb Report content, as well as content specifically crafted for the discerning Spanish marketplace. “We look forward targeting the wealthiest readers in Spain with the number one brand in the global luxury marketplace” said SpainMedia Magazines President Andres Rodriguez. “We are excited to join Robb Report’s family of partners and continue its editorial prominence in and dedication to connoisseurship for the Spanish market.” Through an agreement with Yellow Pages (Singapore) Limited, Robb Report Singapore will target Southeast Asia’s most affluent readers, with distribution in Singapore, as well as separate editions in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Brunei. Scheduled to debut in the fall, the titles will feature content from Robb Report as well as locally produced content. “We are delighted to have CurtCo Robb Media as a partner. Robb Report defines global luxury lifestyle trends, and arrives at an opportune time in this region when growing affluence is becoming increasingly evident,” said Yellow Pages Singapore’s CEO Danny Chow. This announcement “furthers our ability to deliver the wealthiest readers in the world to our marketing partners,” said CurtCo Media Senior Vice President and Group Publisher David Arnold. “Because luxury goods and services businesses need to reach these high net-worth homes, Robb Report’s efficiency in delivering this otherwise difficult-to-reach audience attests to the unique global position that we maintain. We look forward to extending the global reach of our brand.” For more information, please go to www.MediaMapGlobal.com Labels: Andres Rodriguez, Aroon Purie, CurtCo Media, Danny Chow, David Arnold, India, India Today Group, Robb Report, Singapore, Spain, SpainMedia Magazines, www.MediaMapGlobal.com, Yellow Page Singapore Ltd
